Christchurch Res 4    Bashley Res 1

This was going to be our toughest test so far ,at the start of the game Bashley were joint 2nd with us with a game in hand.Bashley started the strongest and could have been ahead but on 10 mins with easily the best move of the game we ripped the Bash defence apart and Craig Davey rounded the keeper to slot home, 1-0. The half continued with chances coming at both ends but against the run of play Bashley were award a penalty which they converted,1-1. Chances came and went and we went in at 1-1.

Half - Time 1-1

The 2nd half Christchurch started brightly and this proved to be one of our best 45 minutes to date.We defended solidly and the midfield took more control of the game, we always looked like scoring. The 2nd goal came after Ian McIntosh won a header on the half way line which Craig latched onto and slotted past the keeper for his 2nd. Chris Mawer scored the 3rd with a shot from the edge of the box after good work from Lewis and Craig.Dean Collins scored the 4th with a 20 yard free-kick.
This was a tremendous result for the lads keeping us in 2nd spot and with Kempy and the 1st team boys doing the job at Amesbury it was a great weekend for the club.

Ringwood Town Res 1    Christchurch Res 3

Christchurch started well and and as the half went on you knew it was only a matter of time before we scored and the goal came courtesy of Dan Jones who slotted home well past the opposing keeper. The Ringwood keeper played his part making some great saves and because of that and poor finishing we went in 1 - 0 up.

Half - Time 0-1

We started the 2nd half slowly and after a dubious free-kick given on the edge of our area the resulting kick saw the ball bundled over the line as an own goal, 1-1. This gave us a wake up call and we heaped pressure on the Ringwood goal resulting in a penalty which Martin Lawrence dispatched with ease. Further pressure meant the Ringwood keeper was the busiest player on the pitch making four top class saves but the pressure paid off and Chris Mawer converted the 3rd with 10 minutes left and we ran out worthy winners.

Sydenhams League (Wessex) Combination Cup

Christchurch Res 2    Laverstock & Ford 0

It was always going to be difficult going into this game after beating them 11-0 in the league and it was noticeable they had a few different faces in their side. The lads set about there task well making good chances in the opening minutes and after a good spell of pressure Craig Davey opened the scoring after rounding the keeper to slot home. Laverstock were a better side on this occasion but the Church defense held strong and after 30 mins Chris Mawer had the keeper beaten with a superb 30 yard shot only to see it thunder down off the bar, Craig was the quickest to react and headed the ball home for his second.

Half - Time 2-0

We started the second half brightly but allowed Laverstock to have a 15 minute spell where we soaked up a bit of pressure but after making further chances ourselves and failing to convert them the game finished at 2 - 0 which was disappointing after a good 1st half.

We now play Winchester City Res in the next round at Hurn Bridge.

Laverstock & Ford Res 0 Christchurch Res 11

Yes it was 11, to be honest Laverstock & Ford were poor but we played some terrific football and totally destroyed them. We went in 2-0 up at half time and the 2nd half was men against boys. The goals came from Lewis Till 4, Chris Mawer 2, Craig Davey 2, John Armour,Billj Jaworski and Pete Old who headed home a free kick after running 50 yads to get there! A good result which puts us up to 4th and we are looking forward to our first home game on Wed night against Lymington Town Res.
