Bournemouth U10s
BS Grange 1 Christchurch 24
Venue: Chapel Gate
We weren’t looking forward to this as we’d had a very tough home win against them earlier this season and a draw at their place last season effectively cost us the league. All changed a bit when we arrived though as they only had 5 players. We scored in first minute but they came straight back with an equaliser. We then replied instantly so we were 2 1 up in less than two minutes play. After that we just kept scoring at regular intervals. We can’t really learn anything from that and it was very sad for their boys who I have to say were absolutely brilliant. They battled throughout and if Dec hadn’t come rushing out his box a couple of times they could have scored another two at least. In terms of goal difference that puts us 20 ahead of Poole Town and 9 ahead of Kingswood.

Bournemouth U10s Christchurch 5 Bransgore 1 Venue: River Way This is going to sound horrible given the shoreline but this performance was back to those we had before the wins against Poole Town and Canon Colts. This week was the reversal of the opening fixtures (ours away at Bransgore had been postponed) and since then Bransgore have managed one win and no draws. Despite that they took the lead in the first 3 or 4 minutes with their second or third clear opening. We equalised before half time and then Ollie completed a hat trick and Philip added 2 but this was not a good performance. Still a win is a win and our players should good physical strength throughout. Goal scorers Ollie 3 Philip 2 Friday, November 14

Bournemouth U10s Canon Colts 0 Christchurch 3 Venue: Roko Another huge performance following on from last year. Canon finished third last season and we'd only taken one point out of six against them. Not really much today. Every single player was outstanding. We were one nil up at half time and won three nil but in all honestly it could have been several more. And a clean sheet against a very very good team! Goalscorers Ollie Bubba Tom Friday, November 7

Christchurch 6 Poole Town 1 Venue: River Way Easily our best performance of the season if not longer. Poole Town were top having one all their games - they are the team everyone has been talking about. Despite the rain River Way has been in very good condition the last few weeks and the same was true today. However it was very windy and raining on and off. We went one nil down but we didn't drop our heads and deservedly equalised through Bubba so it was one all at half time. Having played against the wind we were delighted with that. We continued to play well in the second half and scored at regular intervals. Huge well done to every single player today. All of them played fantastic and we definitely deserved the win. Bournemouth U10s Redhill Rangers 0 Christchurch 9 Venue: Oakmead School This was the second round of the cup and I believe it was by far our best performance of the season. We looked comfortable right from the beginning and scored early through Philip. Throughout the whole game we passed and moved much better than we have all season. Ironically perhaps our best moves failed to yield goals and the nine nil scoreline could have been much higher; and very pleasing to not even look like conceding. Every player had a very good match today. Goalscorers Philip 3 Ethan Olivia 3 Ollie Zeddy Sunday, October 26

Christchurch 4 Broadstone 1 Venue: River Way Date: 26. 10.08 Well we never thought we'd see the day that Ant was out of bed in time to see kick off but he was actually in time to help bring the goals from the caravan park!!! Unfortunaely the game itself wasn't quite so memorable. Corfe Mullen were bottom and hadn't scored a goal in the league yet but we were determined not to underestimate them. We started brightly and went a goal up but then conceded. We scored a second and so were 2 - 1 up at half time. In the second half we showed odd glimpses of how good we can be but they were frustratingly sporadic. Brandon played a good game in defence making his debut of the season for the Bmth team. We have a cup game next week (instead of the league game against Greenfields) and then have a run of three tough games against Poole Town (top), Canon Colts and Kingswood. We started well and looked comfortable creating lots of chances but then conceded a very good goal against the run of play. Dec pulled off a few more good saves but we should have been winning by half time. We didn't play much better second half but simply took our chances. Christchurch 3 - Bournemouth Electric 0 Venue: River Way Our second game against a promoted team (Redhill were the first a couple of weeks ago) and another win. This was probably our best performance so far this season; Electric have already beaten Cannon Colts this season and on the basis of this performance they’ll be a match for many teams. We scored early through Zeddy and the rest of the game was very competitive with chances at both ends. We hit the post three or four times and they hit the bar once. Andy reffed the game very well because there was plenty of opportunity for things to get out of hand in a very physical game. We got two late goals from Ryan and Ethan and so the final scoreline looks more convincing than perhaps we deserve but its good to see we can compete with physical teams. Very pleasing to keep a clean sheet too. Goals corers Zeddy Ryan Ethan Sunday, September 28

Bournemouth U10s Christchurch 5 Redhill 2 Venue: River Way Redhill were promoted last season but despite beating them 6 1 Kingswood had warned us they were a good team. We didn't play well at all and they deservedly took a one nil lead. We battled back and Bubba scored to make it one all at half time. Things didn't improve in the second. Again they scored early and led 2 1 until mid way through the half. We then got it together and started passing much better. We equalised through an own goal and then 5 minutes from the end we took the lead through Ollie. 14th September 2008 Venue: River Way Christchurch 3 Bournemouth Sports Grange 2 This was our first game of the season (having had the game last Sunday and Tuesday postponed) and it looked like it. We'd heard Kingswood had beaten Grange 8 nil last week so we were confident but they proved to be much stronger opposition than we imagined. Several of our players looked out of sorts and we didn't gel and pass as well as we can. We did however get into a 2 nil lead by half time after long ramge shots from Ollie and Ryan. The first few minutes of the second half looked like we were getting it together. We started passing and camped in their half but a defensive lapse let them in to get a goal back. Again we didn't look phased and played like we expected to score again but yet again conceded. It was a real scrap after that and we probably just about deserved a last minute winner from Ethan. Dorset Mini-Soccer League
Under 10 Section 5 Conditions - Sunny, Ground soft. From the off, Rangers looked composed & came at us hard, attacking 1st from our kickoff. There were chances at both ends, but Christchurch looked sluggish, with midfield & forwards failing to fall back & cover after each attack. For this we were punished, as they turned our defense & drew first blood, putting a ball past substitute keeper, James, & an end to our run of 11 clean sheets. Soon after James was put to the test agian, this time managing to push a lofted shot over the crossbar. We were 0-1 down until about 10 minutes before half time, when a shot from Lewis was saved by their keeper, but fortunately for us, only to be scored as an own goal from a panic clearance attempt, leaving it 1-1 at half time. For the 1st half, Rangers looked the stronger team, whilst we looked a little lost, making runs when we should have passed, & passing when we had space to run. The second half we showed a little more composure, though still not producing our best performance during our hardest game of the season. Rangers took kickoff, & Miles swiftly took possession & raced down the right wing & struck a shot which passed through the keepers hands & into the net, putting us 2-1 up. Back in control of the game, we looked a little more at ease, & a counter attack, saw Mikell play the ball out from defense to Jake on the left wing, who made a run & played a great short ball to Marley just before he ran into traffic. Marley switched play to Miles on the right, who threaded a ball into Bradley in the box, who put it home to give us some breathing space. Mikell stood strong in defense, with Joe & Ashleigh, making some vital tackles. We were lucky on a few occasions when Rangers broke through but missed the target. The game was certainly action packed, with chances at both ends. Their keeper made a series of great saves, preventing us from increasing further, & at one point a strike hit the crossbar, only bounce on the line & out. Scorers: Miles 1, Bradley 1, Rangers own goal 1. Man of the match: Mikell Carrington. Sunday, January 6

HEATHLANDS 0 - 7 CHRISTCHURCH
U10s Dorset league. Conditions: Ground soft, muddy. Weather cold & damp. Heathlands broke from the kickoff making an attempt on goal, testing our defence & Keeper. Our first goal was supplied by Lewis & netted by Ashleigh - a defender who played the first half upfront, & secured his first goal of the season. A handball gave us a free kick out to the right of the box, Miles stepped up & curled it to the far post, but Mitchell couldn't quite get a head to it. A few minutes later we won a second free kick from a late tackle, but it just glanced the crossbar. Our second goal came from a practiced set piece, a short corner was played to Mitchell, who had pushed up from defence to put it in the net. Philip took a great shot, but the Keeper spilled it & Miles capitalized in increase our lead. The Heatlands Keeper had a blinder of a game, though the score doesn't fairly represent his efforts. He showed no fear, and closed down our strikers down before they could convert the crosses & passes. Marley scored our 4th from the left, just outside the box, a very acute turn, foiled his marker, & a well placed shot went in at the bottom left corner. The second half saw Lewis fall into Mid-field, & Miles & Mitchell play upfront. Miles worked his magic, & made some great runs during the game, foiling player after player with some fancy footwork & turns. A throw-in, in the attacking third, saw Miles cross a ball into the box from the left, Mitchell got his head on the end of it & his header lofted the Keeper & dip under the crossbar. Mikell & Ashleigh kept most Heathlands attacks at bay, but Finn had to make a few saves. A lofted shot looked likely to drift over Finn's head & put an end to our 10th clean sheet, but a two-fist punch sent it upwards. The danger wasn't over as it fell in the goal mouth, but Finn managed to collect it before the strikers capitalized. An unchallenged run from Lewis on goal made their Keeper commit to come out for it, but a quick pass to his left, gave Mitchell an open goal to aim for, making it 6 - 0. Our last goal came a pass from Lewis, from the left of the Box, Mitchell at the near post missing the opportunity, but it ran on to Miles, who was more than happy to put it away. Scorers: Mitchell 2, Miles 2, Ashleigh 1, Lewis 1, Marley1. Man of the Match: Miles Hooker. Sunday, December 16

CHRISTCHURCH 6 - 0 BLANDFORD BULLDOGS
River Way (Home) - U10's (Dorset) We were expecting this to be our hardest game of the season, as The Bulldogs were only 3 points behind us in the League. From the off we had most of the possession. But at the slightest error on our behalf, The Bulldogs would seize the chance and were off like rockets. Our first goal came after about 15-20 mins, A corner from Miles lofted over the Keepers head, who only managed to get fingers to it before it fell behind him & bounced in our favour into the net. The Bulldogs passed well & had a strong defence. They had a few attempts on goal, but James held strong to make some vital saves. There was a lot of end-to-end action today. At half time, we were only 1 - 0 up, so needed to step up a gear & not concede, as we knew The Bulldogs had showed some convincing attacks. The second goal came from a break from our defence, played up the wing to Lewis who made a great run, playing in Jake at the box, who neatly tucked it away. As the sun was in their Keepers eyes the second half, & we had some big hitters, the lads were under instruction to drill a few in. Marley had a shot from outside the box, the Keeper got to it, but the pace on it was hefty to hold onto. Again this half we saw some great team work & inventiveness from Christchurch. We were short on defence, so Bradley & Philip played half a game each in defence with Joe, managing to diffuse most attacks, & James confidently dealing with the rest in goal. Miles, Marley, Brad & Phil worked the midfield & wings well, whist Jake & Lewis played-off each other well upfront. Both teams passed well really today, but we had the stronger team. Lewis was rewarded for his efforts today with 2 goals & Jake managed to get a toe to one of Lewis' shots, to assist it over the line. Scorers: Jake 2, Lewis 2, Miles 1, Marley 1. MERLEY ALLENDALE 0 - 9 CHRISTCHURCH
Fenners Field (away), 25 Nov07, Dorset U10's Our unbeaten run continues, & still haven't conceded a goal. The first goal came seconds into the game, Lewis' first touch from a cross from James, was meant to put him into a striking position, but luckily surprising him & the Keeper, it headed in at the far post. Christchurch tested the Merley Keeper continually, but he denied shot after shot. A ball from Bradley, gave Miles a shot from the just outside the box, which sailed over the Keeper's head & dipped under the crossbar, leaving it 0 - 2 at half time. There were a few 'odd' decisions from the Ref, who at one point gave a free kick the other way when one of our Strikers was brought down in their box after a receiving a tackle from behind. Christchurch again dominated the field, eager to win every ball. Merley had a few breaks on goal, but again a solid defence with Mitchell & Joe cleaning up effectively. Goal Keeper, Finn, was only called upon a few times, but did so with ease. The second half saw some quicker passing from Christchurch, which led to another 7 goals, a 2nd from Lewis, 2 from Miles, 2 from Bradley. Joe pushed up from defence & hammered a shot from outside the box which found the back of the net. Towards the end of the game, Merley started to get frustrated, & heavy tackles turned into late tackles, but these were again 'un-noticed' by the Ref. Our last goal came from a shot from Bradley which hit the woodwork, Miles took the rebound, but again denied by the frame, but James managed to drill it in 3rd time lucky.

Everton 0 Christchurch 0
Venue: Everton Rec An excellent performance from Christchurch. Very much a game of two halves since the pitch was on a slope and the sun was in the eyes of the team playing up hill. We had the advantage in the first half and played some good passing football and were unlucky to turnaround in the lead. The second half was very hard work playing up the hill. Everton had several players with strong shots. We weren’t completely under the cosh though and created several of our own chances. Overall a very hard fought and deserved point. Sunday, November 11

ROSSGARTH NP 0 - 7 CHRISTCHURCH
U10's (Dorset. Potterne Park (away). 11/Nov Our 7th consecutive League win, & without conceding a single goal. The boys played well again today, Finn didn't have much to do in goal, but did the business when called upon. Ashleigh, Mitchell & Mikell were solid at the back, keeping Rossgarth at bay. The first goal came after a few minutes, a clearance from Mitchell, lofted straight over all the Rossgarth players to find Philip who burst forward to put it away with ease. The second, a shot from Lewis inside the box made it 0-2. Marley was on form today, with a good balance of runs & crosses, from the left wing, the first of which found Lewis, who was happy to convert it. Our 4th came again from another well placed cross from Marley, this time finding James, who confidently turned it in. A late tackle gave us a free kick opportunity, midway into their half, Marley hammered it straight through the defence to find the back of the net. Rossgarth were tending to group along the active side of the pitch, so a quick half time talk instructed the boys to switch play across the field, of which it they did well, but our receiving 'first touches' could have been a little better to capitalise on the space & time we had. Philip had a good 2nd half, with plenty of passing to James, Lewis & Jake upfront. Philip scored his 2nd goal of the game, when a free kick taken by Bradley was saved by the Keeper, but fell to Philips feet, who placed it in well. Ball hungry Lewis also had a good run today, scoring his hat-rick, our 7th & final goal of the game, with a shot that the Keeper got to, but fumbled it & it went in. Scorers: Lewis 3, Philip 2, James 1, Marley 1. Man of the Match: Marley Cooper. Sunday, November 4

CHRISTCHURCH 5 – 0 STURMINSTER MARSHALL STARS
River Way, 4th Nov U10's Dorset. The Stars held us down to 0 – 0 for about 15 minutes, until we finally broke the deadlock, Marley scored the much deserved first goal, as his passing was great in first half. A long clearance from Ashleigh, found Marley, & his shot was too hot to handle & the Keeper fumbled it & it went in. Despite numerous attempts on goal, the Stars Keeper & the woodwork kept us a bay. The second half we pushed Joe upfront, who was happy to capitalize on the opportunity with his first 2 goals of the season. Jake also added to the scoreline; when he tucked away a deflected save. Mikell pushed forward from defence & played the ball well around to the midfielders. Bradley also scored with a lofted shot, which the Keeper tried to push over the crossbar, but it fell behind him & went in. The team worked well with Ashleigh, Joe & Mikell in defence, Miles, Bradley & Marley played the midfield well creating chance after chance, & Jake hungry for the ball upfront. This game saw a mixture of individual flare from players & some good passing. Though during this season we hope to get the boys to consistently combine the two. STURMINSTER NEWTON UTD 0 - 5 Christchurch (21/10/07 Sturminster High School) Another convincing win from Christchurch, & I'm happy to say that the boys passed well today, & new Keeper, Finn, along with defenders, Joe, Ashleigh & Mitchell managed to keep our 5th clean sheet. The first goal came after 9 minutes, a saved shot fell to Bradley to tuck away. Marley supplied our second, with a great run down the left wing, into the box and calmly placed it to the side of the Keeper. A loose ball in the box gave James the opportunity to score his 1st goal of the season, & our 3rd before half time. The second half, Sturminster Newton defended harder, & went all in on tackles. The next goal came 18 minutes into the second half, a driven shot from Miles, was palmed away, into the air by their Keeper, but only far enough for Philip to find the net with a lovely header. Our 5th & final goal came in the dying minutes, James received the ball out to the left of the box, turned & shot from a very acute angle, surprising the Keeper, & going through his grasp. CHRISTCHURCH 9 – 0 HEATHLANDS
Yet another great result from Christchurch, from the off it looked as if we had control of the game. It wasn’t long before Bradley drew first blood, which was closely followed by a second. The majority of the first half saw some good play by Christchurch, with a goal from Jake, two from Miles & a third for Bradley. Again our passing let us down today & Heathlands were passing the ball better than we were, but luckily our lads were stonger & faster on the day. The second half saw fewer goals, as our game dropped & we lost the control of the pace of the game. Lewis, Heathlands had multiple attempts on goal during both halves, but with Mitchell & Joe in defense, most attempts were snubbed out efficiently. James (Goalie), confidently took care of any threats that got through, maintaining our clean sheet for our 4th League match. Philip, Miles & Bradley played the mid-field well, chasing down every ball, Lewis & Jake again working well upfront. Lewis joined the score tally. The last goal came from a great dummy from Jake, & a run on goal, which at the last minute he played through for Miles to put into the back of the net. Scorers: Bradley 3, Miles 3, Jake 2, Lewis 1. Under 10's Dorset
STURMINSTER MARSHALL STARS 0 – 7 CHRISTCHURCH 23sep07 A bit os a soggy one today! Another great result, but a lack of passing & game play limited our chances of improving the score-line further. The boys don’t usually play to their best in the rain, so we’ll put the lack of creativity down to that, & the fact that most of them were wearing ‘Astros’ on wet grass didn’t help either. However, he first half consisted of 4 goals, the irst of which came from a cross from Bradley, & turned in by a header from Jake. The second, Marley’s shot from the halfway line went sailing in. Mikell & Mitchell did their stuff as always at the back, & cleared up any attacks on our goal. Two goals then followed from outside the box, one from Miles & a second for Marley. For the second half, Mikell went in goal, & Jordan came out to play upfront, & Jake dropped back to help Mitchell in defense. A corner lead to a ‘goal box scramble’, & a miss-placed clearance hit Miles in the stomach & went in, giving him his second. A thru-ball from Bradley put Jordan on a 1-on-1 with the Keeper, & his shot nut-megged the Keeper to find the net. Marley took a third goal to end the game 0 – 7. The Stars made a few breaks towards our goal, but our lads defended well, & ensured there were no direct shots on goal, making life easy for our Keeper. Scorers: Marley 3, Miles 2, Jake 1, Jordan 1. Man of the Match – Mikell Carrington.

Kingswood 4 Christchurch 0 The first half we started well, with some good movement. We soaked up a fair bit of pressure towards the end of the half. Dan Shanks making some fine saves. Their first goal came by way of a goal mouth scramble that ended in an own goal. But the boys battled well, but could not stop them adding a 2nd before half time. The start of the second half saw us under pressure again. Some desperate defending could not stop us conceeding 2 more goals. This prompted the boys to start playing football! We passed the ball well and made some good scoring chances. With Sam Jackson and Stuart Dunsden coming close. The boys heads never went down and can be proud of their efforts. Sam showed the most determination and was man of the match. Sunday, September 16

Dorset Mini Soccer League U10
CHRISTCHURCH 15 – 0 MERLEY ALLENDALE Well what can I say, a very flattering result & a great start to the season. From the kick-off it looked as if we were going to dominate the game, and that we did! Bradley put in the first goal after 3 minutes, followed by the second a few minutes later. All the boys played outstandingly, and they were on top form today. Again, a great display of talent from Christchurch. Merley Allendale had a couple of good breaks towards our goal, with goalkeeper, Jordan saving a few attempts, but Mitchell & Mikell in defence snubbed most of them out. The rest of the first half finished with Lewis finding the back of the net twice, & Bradley racking up another 2, to leave us very comfortable at 6 – 0 at half time. A quick juggle around, second half, saw Mikell take up goal, Bradley fall back into defense, to allow the others a chance to increase the score-line further, & that they certainly did. Our boys stepped up yet another gear and the passing & crossing was outstanding. The lads were pushing foward & flooding the goal area, as cross after cross flew in from Marley, Philip & co. Miles found the net with a fabulous header, & ‘Left Post Barclay’ (Jordan) scored 3 lovely volleys, & a header in the dying minutes. Mitchell joined in the action & drilled one in. Philip also found the net, & Miles took a second, & Lewis, a third. Merley Allendale are a new team, and this was their first League match. Credit to them, they kept their heads high, & played to the end. Scorers: Bradley 4, Jordan 4, Lewis 3, Miles 2, Mitchell 1, Philip 1. Greenfields 2 Christchurch 0 First game of the season for the under 10s and this was always going to be difficult. Greenfields had finished 2nd last year and had recently beat us in the New Forest Rangers tournament. Not only that the game marked the debut of two new players. Having said all that we played very well. Greenfields scored midway through the first half and for much of the rest of the game we looked the more likely to score. Unfortunately we conceded a second towards the end of the game but overall very pleased with our performance. |
