Christchurch v Bournemouth Sports Grange
Hampshire Cup Round 3
Match Result: 7 - 1
Goal Scorers: Olly B. (4), Ollie G, Harry C. (2)
The scoreline suggests a very comfortable win but that really doesn't reflect the game at all. We started very slowly and conceded early. Continually their two strikers were able to run onto long balls and Dec was called upon about ten times throughout the game (mostly in the first half) to come racing out of his box to clear. Despite that we led three one at half time and gave the team a good pep talk. Things didnt really improve until about the last 7 or 8 minutes. When we passed the ball we scored pretty much at will. We'll put this one down to 'a win is a win' and to be honest not many managers would moan about a 7 - 1 win.

Christchurch v New Milton Town Eagles
Match Result: 6 - 0 Goal Scorers: Harry C (2), Ethan, Oliver D, Nathaniel, Olly B I missed this one again and it sounds a regulation win rather than anything spectacular. After a dodgy start to the season Robins' results seem to have improved i the last couple of weeks and with them having two of our ex-players meant they were going to be fired up for this one. Pleasing to see us keep a clean sheet after having been critical of our defence in previous weeks but it seems now we are scoring less than half the chances we create. This result leaves us in second place joint on points with Kingswood who played a Dorset cup match; we've played a game more but have a one goal worse goal difference. We need to start scoring more of the chances we create! Back to the Hampshire Cup next week where I think we are Christchurch's sole survivor. |
